Municipal Elections

The Town holds a Municipal Election to elect a Mayor and Members of the Board of Trustees on the first Tuesday of April in even numbered years. This year's Election will take place on April 3, 2018.  Town Hall will serve as the Polling Place for this Election.  The Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

At this Election, voters will elect a Mayor from candidates:
  • Adrienne Sandoval
  • Steve Nelson
AND will elect four Trustees from candidates:
  • Harold Leggett
  • Spencer Bradnan
  • Larry Clark
  • Nick Ralston
  • Penny Salazar
An Open House has been scheduled on March 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Platteville Public Library, 504 Marion Avenue, so that you can meet the candidates, and hear their views on community issues, and goals if elected.  Please join us!

Voter Registration

The office of the Colorado Secretary of State oversees voter registration. You can register to vote, change your address, or check your information at the Colorado Secretary of State.

Candidates for Office

Who can run for office? To run for office you must be:
  • Registered voter
  • Age 18 on or before election day
  • Resident of the Town of Platteville for at least 12 consecutive months before election day

Absentee Ballots

If you will be unable to vote at Town Hall on Election Day, you can request an Absentee Ballot. Absentee Ballot Applications must be delivered to Town Hall.  You will then be notified when your ballot will be available. In order for Absentee Ballots to be counted, they must be returned to Town Hall by 7 p.m. on Election Day.
